Aontacht are an OFSTED rated GOOD provider
Aontacht encompass child centred, whole family working to provide high quality residential parenting assessments in our residential family centre. Our extensive parenting assessment program provides local authorities with factual evidence and conclusive analysis and recommendations that can be used to support care planning for children. We offer a complete wrap around package including both in house teaching, assessment and engagement with community services and partner agencies.
Each residential assessment undertaken by Aontacht aim to be both fair and respectful of an individual’s dignity whilst ensuring that the safety and the wellbeing of children always remains paramount. Ample staff are on hand to provide support and advice to families from early in the morning until late at night and, if required throughout the night.
Assessments also reflect the fact that parents learn in different ways. We have a person centred practitioner who will ensure that our adult residents have their needs (such as health, neuro divergence, learning difficulty or disability, language, religion, culture and gender) met and have adapted teaching delivered to them in a way best suited to their individual needs. This includes the regular review of service delivery to ensure we focus on an asset driven approach in meeting individual needs and evidencing progress. Our aim is to give parents/carers the best possible opportunity to engage meaningfully in learning and demonstrating their parenting capability to the best of their ability.
We use an eclectic approach to assessment based on the individual needs of families. Central to our practice and interventions are concepts and ideas taken from multiple theoretical models. The aim of using multiple theories and styles of intervention is to achieve a balance in the quality of care we provide. Offering support, observing and supervising care giving, promoting the wellbeing of children, intervening when necessary and encouraging families to gain independence and make fast, effective, sustainable, positive changes. Our work is enshrined in restorative and healing centred practice, reframing trauma, empowering our families and allowing for more meaningful engagement. This way of working aims to build resilience as the groundwork for making sustainable change. We have a commissioned counsellor who residents have weekly access to whilst residing with us.
We are passionate about making the right decisions for children at the right time.
Our highly trained, caring staff provide a nurturing environment to deliver our bespoke teaching program, combatting cycles of intergenerational trauma.
We provide robust, evidence based assessments of parenting and ensuring children are prioritised and safeguarded throughout their stay with us.
